PAINLESS SPINAL TOUCH THERAPY
- Are you standing as straight as you should be?
- Are your shoulders and hips level?
- Would a line down your side connect your ear, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle?
- Does your body show hidden signs of distortion?
- What conditions does it help?
Postural problems, stress, R.S.I. high blood pressure, asthma, osteo-arthritis, scoliosis spondylosis, migraine, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, rehabilitation after stroke, injury or operation, sagging abdominal organs, aching legs, slipped discs etc.
- Why haven’t I heard of it before?
Although this method of realigning the spine and correcting postural distortion dates from 1905, it was mainly used by chiropractors in the USA until it was brought to England in the 1980s.
- Does it hurt?
No. The treatment is very gentle and there are no sudden pulls, twists, manipulations or cracking of joints.
- What happens during a treatment?
You will generally be asked to undress to your underwear and then measured against a perpendicular line; this allows me to see the spinal distortions and decide how to carry out the treatment. This takes place with you lying on the treatment couch and is very relaxing – often patients fall asleep! After the treatment, you are re-measured.
- How many Spinal Touch treatments will I need and how long do they last?
Spinal Touch treatments generally start at once weekly, although chronic conditions respond better to two sessions a week to start with but soon are reduced to fortnightly and then monthly treatments.
The first treatment, which includes taking a full case history, takes between 45 minutes to an hour, subsequent treatments take less time.
